Who We Are

There exists a gap in the lower-middle market for advisory and investment banking services. As the economy has expanded over the last decade, lower-middle market investment banks have grown to be too expensive for certain client types. Though these clients’ needs are sophisticated, they are usually not large enough to justify the time and fees of a more traditional investment bank. Client types generally include small businesses with revenues between $1 - $50 million, wealthy families or individuals, family offices, and private equity firms.

Andrew Bass

Andrew Bass’s career sits at the intersection of investment management, business operations, and capital markets. He started his career working in the research departments of mutual and hedge funds, such as Berlin Financial, North Star Investment Management, and the Oakmark Funds under Bill Nygren. There, he spent his time researching, analyzing, valuing, and vetting thousands of different investments over dozens of industries, mainly in the public equity and debt markets.

 

He transitioned to a corporate strategy role while working with a publicly traded company where he proceeded to manage and integrate business divisions, guide corporate and business strategy, and serve as the Company’s Head of Capital Allocation and Investment Banker. He provided a variety of services, such as buy-side advisory, valuation and analysis, and capital markets advisory, in addition to raising over $20 million through a variety of securities, including traditional and alternative asset-based lending, hybrid, and equity securities.

 

He found his way back to the investment management industry after helping to set up and run a single-family office with over $1 billion in assets. He served as the Head of Investments where he analyzed and vetted hundreds of investment types across a wide spectrum, including Public and Private Equities, Debt and Hybrid Securities, Public and Private Fund Investments, and Real Estate. 

 

Mr. Bass prides himself on having successfully worked with a wide range of businesspeople, including individuals, executive-level officers and directors, families, investment managers, and corporations. Examples of his work include:
